By using the train and bus services, you can enjoy the countryside scenery of Johor, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan states along the highways or the railways before arriving in Kuala Lumpur.
The most popular and economical way to get to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore is by using the buses. The buses are large and very comfortable -- usually having 24 seats with 8 rows of 2 or 3 seats. The express buses from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur operate daily with frequent departures throughout the day but you can expect a 90 minute holdup at Johor Bahru while clearing customs/immigration.
Taking a bus to Kuala Lumpur will take about 4-5 hours. You will be dropped off at the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station where you can take a taxi or LRT to your hotel.
The national railway of Malaysia, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTM) operates an express train service departing from Singapore three times daily - morning, afternoon and overnight.
