Glory Beach Resort Port Dickson was our latest weekend escapade! The popular beach resort is exclusively located at Tanjung Gemuk, Port Dickson, in the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan.
This beach resort is only about 60km away from Kuala Lumpur. You can get there by using the Seremban Highway which takes about 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur.
It was originally named as Tanjung Gemuk Beach Resort, which was based on the name of the area, Tanjung Gemuk. However, the name didn't sound so nice because the word gemuk means "fat". So, the beach resort was later renamed to Glory Beach Resort!

At this Port Dickson beach resort, you can rent apartments and penthouse at reasonable rates. Every apartment is equipped with amenities provided on par with a 4 star beach resort. There is a total of 288 units of spacious air-conditioned apartments equipped with mini-bar, IDD telephone, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and kitchenette.
Facilities
There are also several outlets at Glory Beach Resort Port Dickson, which includes a restaurant, beer garden, disco/karaoke pub, mini theatre, mini-market & gift shop. The Coral Cafe is the palce to enjoy a personalized sumptuous dinner beholden by romantic ambience. For party time you can go to Bom Bom Disco, Karaoke and Fun Pub. How about a BBQ dinner along the beach? Yes.. you can do that at Kokomo Beach Bar, but by request only!
Personally, I don't like Port Dickson beaches. Perhaps, it's because beaches at my home town in the East Coast are far more beautiful, with pure white sands and crystal clear blue water that streches for miles! So, for me, Port Dickson beaches are not fascinating. There are not so much white sands and in some areas it was even polluted. But... that's only my personal thought. You know, I have a really high standard on beaches... ha..ha..ha..
So, you just got to check it out for yourself! You might like Port Dickson like many other Kuala Lumpur folks.
The Glorious Resort!
We arrived at the Glory Beach Resort Port Dickson at noon. And it was crowded with people! There were so many people gathering for their company's family days. So... the beautifully landscape pool was full!
So... we checked into our apartment at Block J and rested. My husband tried to get an apartment unit facing the pool so that we can see (and hear) the nightlife from our room. But... it was full. We were then given a unit facing half the land and half the sea. That's good enough as I still can see the sea landscape from the 7th floor, and it was so quite and peaceful. I liked it!

At 5pm, we went to the beach. It was crowded with people taking parts in various family days' activities. There were playing volley ball and tele-matches. Kids were seeing building sand castles with their moms. And, people were swimming in the sea!
We visited the Glory Beach Resort's souvenier's shop. It was too small!! I think only two or three people can browse in the shop at the same time. And, except for some limited t-shirts printed with Glory Beach Resort Port Dickson's logo, there were no other souveniers that could make you remember your visit to the resort.
Despite all the minus points about the Glory Beach Resort Port Dickson (and the beach), I really love watching the sunset.

How to get to the Glory Beach Resort
- Get into Seremban Highway
- Pass Nilai exit...1st Seremban/Labu exit....and when you see the signboard saying Seremban/Port Dickson, turn into the exit
- After the toll... there will be a T junction where to the left is Seremban and right is Port Dickson. Turn to the right
- Go along the main road and you'll reach to Seremban - Port Dickson Highway toll
- After the toll, go along the highway until you reach a sign " Lukut" turn left to exit the highway
- Once you reach the T junction, turn to the right and go along the road about 5 to 6 km away...Glory Beach Resort is along the main road on the right
