Kuala Lumpur Flora Fest 2007

The Kuala Lumpur Flora Fest 2007 was successfully held from 20 January to 4 February 2007. It was the biggest and most colourful display of flora in Malaysia!

The theme for this year’s Flora Fest was Colours Of Harmony, as Malaysia’s colourful blooms represent the beautiful racial harmony found in Malaysia. I was so delighted to see several Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur areas, beautifully transformed by the flower power into bright, colorful and fragrants blooms.

Kuala Lumpur Flora Fest 2007
The most spectacular highlight of the Kuala Lumpur Flora Fest 2007 was of course the Floral Parade which was introduced in 1991 and is the only such parade ever organized in Southeast Asia.

The floral parade this year was more dazzling than ever! Participants from various organizations and state governments tried to outshine one another with their own floral creations. The Floral Parade held in Putrajaya on 27 January 2007 was a spectacular event showcasing floats decorated with bright, colourful and fragrant flowers.

The Floral Parade juries selected six floats and award them with individual recognitions based on the best original design, concept, construction, animation, flower display and of course, the float display that is best in line with this year’s theme, Colours of Harmony.

Apart from the grand display of flora, marching bands from schools, government agencies and other organizations were also on parade to add grandeur to the event. The decorated floats were then put on display for three days (27 - 29 January 2007) at an air-conditioned tent in Persiaran Perdana (Boulevard) Putrajaya.

I didn't go to the Floral Parade held on 27 January in Putrajaya, but I have a very good photo source -- my sister! Ida went to the Floral Parade with her three kids and able to snap some great photos for us to see. Click here to check out the Floral Parade photos taken by Ida. Thanks a zillion Sis!
