My favorite restaurant is the Manhattan Fish Market. Is it originated from Manhattan, New York?

No! Absolutely not!!

I thought so too. But, I was wrong.

This fine eatery is actually a made-in-malaysia product. How shocking.

This is some details that I got from their website:

Revenue Valley Sdn Bhd, which owns home-grown restaurants Manhattan Fish Market and Hainan Kopitiam set up its first Manhattan Fish Market in Malaysia at the Mid Valley Megamall in November 2002 and now owns a total of 13 outlets, mainly in the Klang Valley, and one each in Singapore and Bangkok. The Manhattan Fish Market, a casual dining seafood restaurant, was founded by Dr Jeffrey Goh, a dentist-turned-politician and businessman, and a Singaporean partner.

Derived from the legendary Fulton Market (largest and oldest fish market in Manhattan) established since 1822 in Manhattan, this Malaysian chain is similar in many ways, namely in terms of the quality and freshness of its seafood.

I first dined in Manhattan Fish Market in Subang Parade. Our boss treated us for the monthly team lunch. Yes, he always did. Thank you boss - you're a very generous man.

The interior design was quite nice and the waiters were very busy serving the patrons. I felt like dining in a fishermen shack - only this one has aircond. Ha..ha..ha

After a quick browsing through the worn out menu, I order the Sizzling Lousiana Prawn. The prawns were huge and tasted so good with the creamy schrimp sauce. I could really have some more!

Since then, I frequently dine at Manhattan Fish Market restaurant with friends, family or just myself.

What's my favorites? The Garlic Lemon Mussel and Flaming Lobster Platter!

The mussel is a really yummy-taste that go nicely with the sauce.

The Flaming Lobster Platter?

It is a combination of lobster, mussels and grilled dory, topped with a special tangy sauce mixed with some Oriental ingredients.

The dish is then flamed in front of me! The flaming bring out the lobster's aroma. So, mouth-watery...ha..ha..ha.

So, I give my thumb up to Manhattan Fish Market.

The outlets are everywhere in Kuala Lumpur. It's a seafood restaurants, so don't expect to find non-seafood here. The food taste great if you don't have such a high expectation on food.
