Taman Tasik Titiwangsa
Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is one of the most popular metropolitan recreational parks located in the northern part of Kuala Lumpur. It is near to Istana Budaya, National Gallery, Sutra Dance Theatre and a little further on, the National Library.
This public park is complete with facilities for jogging, canoeing, aqua biking and workout stations. At the edge of the lake sits a floating restaurant, in which you can savour delicious local cuisine while enjoying the scenic view.
Bakatkraf, an exhibition and sales centre, lies a short distance away, housing an interesting array of handicrafts produced by the wives of army personnel.
The
Eye on Malaysia which runs from 6th January 2007 till 31st December 2007 has changed Taman Tasik Titiwangsa! Previously, there were only 300 patrons per day, but now it boasts about of 3,000 people to 30,000 people per day!
So what is this Eye on Malaysia all about? Eye on Malaysia is a 60 metre high structure simillar to the London Eye. With 40 gondolas with a capacity of six passengers per gondola, each ride will take approximately 10mins - 12 mins. You will be able to experience a breathtaking 360 degree panorama over 20 kilometres of Kuala Lumpur!
Other highlights are the imaginative images on screens of water, mesmerizing laser beam sequences, awesome pyrotechnics, choreographed water ski performances, breathtaking wave rider stunts and the captivating Malaysia ‘Postcards’ display. Throughout 2007, a series of other international special events are planned to premiere within KL’s new entertainment precinct at Lake Titiwangsa.
